05-21
China Huaneng Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Jiangsu provincial government, planning to invest 160 billion yuan (23.15 billion U.S. dollars or 20.76 billion euros) to build a huge offshore wind power industrial base.
The plan will integrate research and development (R&D) and manufacturing capabilities, while also covering construction, operation and maintenance of offshore wind farms.
The state-owned power company already owns an offshore wind farm in Jiangsu province. At the end of September 2017, a 300MW offshore wind farm on the coast of Rudong started commercial operation. The facility consists of 70 wind turbines of different sizes, including units with capacities of 4MW, 4.2MW and 5MW.
